Fundamental Research

Fundamental research evaluates a company based on several financial, economic, qualitative and quantitative parameters to arrive at its intrinsic value. At IndiaNivesh, we have a dedicated fundamental research team, which publishes fundamental research reports to help clients make informed investment decisions.

How we carry out fundamental stock research

At IndiaNivesh, we analyse the fundamentals of a company after conducting an initial screening. Fundamental stock research is carried out on these parameters:

  • Financial reports of the company
  • Debt ratio of the company
  • The company’s products, competitors, management and people
  • The price-earnings ratio
  • Profit and loss statements
  • Cash-flow statements
  • The balance sheet of the company
  • Prospects of the company

Our fundamental research analysts study the factors that can potentially affect the value of a company’s stock, including company financials and management as well as macro-economic factors such as the state of the economy and the sector of the company. The objective of a fundamental research report is to arrive at the quantitative long-term value of a stock that can be compared with its current price, to help investors know whether the stock is overvalued, fairly valued or undervalued.

What our fundamental research reports cover

  • The financials of a company
  • The sector in which the company operates
  • The talent in the company
  • The company management and its stability
  • Innovative products offered by the company, and whether it has any IP that will give it a competitive edge
  • Current share price and how much of the company’s value is already priced in

How fundamental research reports are created at IndiaNivesh

We at IndiaNivesh use real, public data to evaluate the value of a company from a long-term perspective. Earnings, revenue, return on equity, future growth and profit margins are some of the elements of fundamental research that help us understand a company’s potential for future growth.

Our fundamental research team creates regular reports highlighting important market events and economic activities that can affect the Indian stock market and its performance.

Nivesh Velocity Portfolio is a fundamental research report that carries the short to medium-term outlook of equity markets. It also lists the view on around 10 stocks, with an investment rationale for every stock. (Note: this is just a model portfolio and not a part of IndiaNivesh PMS.)
